VP800 Series: The projector
works, but the loop through on my Macintosh desktop monitor does not.
- Check your Mac adapters and cables. Disconnect and reconnect all cables,
looking for bent pins. The proper connections are illustrated in the
manual, page 13.
- Turn everything off. Turn the Monitor, then the projector (wait the
entire 30 second countdown, if necessary), then boot the computer.
- Check your adapters. Use only adapters supplied by Lightware. Lightware
sells Enhance Mac Adapters with dipswitches for $5. This versatile adapter
corrects many Mac problems. To get a set, contact Lightware Technical
Support at 1-800-211-9001. You must use the two adapters (computer and
loop-through monitor) as sets. You cannot mix and match adapter types.
- If you have the dipswitch adapter, use it. Make sure dipswitches 3,
4, 8, and 9 are on. If you do not have the dipswitch adapter, use the
Mac adapter labeled "MAC 8*6".
- Adjust resolution. If you have a desktop computer, attach a desktop
monitor to the projector, so that you can see the Apple operating system
software.
a. Click the apple icon.
b. Go to "Control Panel."
c. Go to "Monitors and Sound" control panel.
d. Under the Resolution menu, click "Show All" instead of
"Recommended," if necessary.
e. Select "800x600" under the "Resolution" menu.
Choose between 60 and 72 Hertz (Hz). You may have to If the appropriate
resolution is already selected, select one with a different number of
Hertz (Hz). Reboot the computer.
