PLUS VISION ADDS TWO XGA PROJECTORS TO ITS VALUE PRICED U5 SERIES
Two latest models in PLUS Vision’s U5 Series add brightness
and
introduce an innovative new Short-Focus Zoom Lens
BEAVERTON, ORE. - December 15, 2003 - PLUS Vision Corporation of America, the
leader in projector miniaturization technology, expands its U5 Series of
feature packed, value priced projectors. PLUS is introducing the U5-132 and
the U5-332, 2000 lumen XGA (1024x768) projectors.
Both the U5-132 and the U5-332 are equipped with a short-focus manual zoom
lens. The new short-focus zoom lens allows users to project images in
virtually any space.
While both projectors offer much of the same features, the U5-332 is
additionally equipped with PLUS Vision’s Bright Mode solution. When in
"bright mode," the projector illumination is boosted to 3000 lumens, while
projecting spreadsheets and text documents.
"With the addition of these two 'value-based' projectors to our new U5
series, users can select the projector that best fits their presentation
style and environment," said S. Mark Hand, vice president, sales and
marketing. "The U5-332 provides executives, educators and government
officials the best projection versatility in the market today."
Compact and weighing a light four pounds, the PLUS U5 Series offers a
2000:1 contrast ratio and displays crisp clear images with life-like
colors. All U5 models offer a 2000-hour lamp life, with an "Eco-Mode"
option to extend lamp life to 3000 hours. In addition to whisper-quiet
performance, the U5 employs Digital Light Processing™ technology
from Texas Instruments. This ensures that every user will be able to
enjoy a lifetime of superior image quality.
From presenters-on-the-go to educators to boardroom planning sessions,
presenters today require security features to deter theft. The U5 series
features password security protection that disables the use of the projector
if a valid password cannot be produced. The U5 series also features a
keylock slot for anti-theft wire lock devices that keep a projector at
its intended location.
The U5 series offers support for the latest video standards including 480p,
576p 780p and 1080i High Definition imaging and also features a built-in
line doubler. This improves and enhances the video performance from any of
the projectors video inputs, including component (YCbCr, YPbPr), S-video and
composite video inputs.
The U5 series offers many features presenters demand including, auto setup,
digital zoom, digital keystone correction, and a presentation timer. The
timer can be set for presentation times of 10 to 60 minutes in 10-minute
increments. It displays the remaining time for the presentation on screen.
Pricing and Accessories
The U5-132 will be introduced with a street price of $2,895 and the U4-232
at $3,095. The U5 series ships with all necessary data, video and audio
cables, a full-function remote control and soft carrying case, fulfilling
every requirement for effective presentations. The U5 series comes standard
